Ellan has worked in animal shelters for over a decade and has had a lifelong passion for animals and nature. Originally from Houston, she earned a film degree in New York and began her animal welfare journey at the Animal Care Centers of NYC. In 2021, they moved to DC and have been working at the Humane Rescue Alliance ever since. Throughout this journey, she's worked with hundreds of animal welfare organizations, community members, volunteers, foster parents, wildlife, exotic animals, farm animals, and of course, domestic pets such as cats and dogs (with a particular soft spot for rabbits). Outside of animals, Ellan has a wide variety of interests including fitness, gaming, linguistics, reading, and music. They're also a dutiful practitioner of dad jokes, puns, and harmless office hijinks because life is short; do things that make people smile!
