Ja-ni is currently a Biology student at Howard University with a passion for animals and aspirations of becoming a wildlife veterinarian. Her love for animals has motivated her to gain hands-on experience in animal care while working toward her future career. During her time as a Pet Care Associate at The Barke Shoppe, she gained experience walking, feeding, bathing, and caring for dogs of different breeds, sizes, and personalities. Through this experience, she learned the importance of patience, responsibility, and understanding each animal's individual needs.  

Working with dogs has allowed Ja-ni to appreciate just how unique every animal can be. One of her favorite parts of animal care is getting to know each dog's personality and building a relationship based on trust and comfort. She understands that some dogs need a little extra patience and encouragement, while others are ready to play and explore right away. No matter their temperament, she strives to make every dog feel safe, happy, and loved. Ja-ni takes pride in knowing that owners can feel comfortable leaving their pets in her care. She looks forward to creating lasting connections with both pets and their families while continuing to pursue her passion for animals
